Lake D transformation in JLT set for 2027 completion under Bay360 project
The transformation of Lake D in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) is officially underway, with completion targeted for the end of 2027.
Managed by DMCC in partnership with developer Sweid & Sweid, the BAY360 project aims to modernize the waterfront into a vibrant community hub while preserving much of the lake’s open character and scenic identity.
Although Lake D has been temporarily drained to facilitate construction, DMCC has confirmed that the majority of the waterbody will be retained and integrated into the final design to maintain the neighborhood's iconic charm.
The development will be anchored by a flagship 22,000-square-foot Spinneys supermarket. In addition, a curated mix of lakefront restaurants and cafés will line the waterfront, many featuring outdoor terraces designed to enhance the pedestrian experience.
BAY360 will introduce rooftop paddle courts, dedicated medical and wellness centers, and an aqua gym equipped with submerged fitness stations, creating a unique blend of recreation and health-focused amenities.
Landscaped green areas, family-friendly outdoor zones, and upgraded walkways will enhance the public realm, encouraging social interaction and active lifestyles within the district.
Infrastructure upgrades include an underground car park with approximately 300 spaces and a redesigned pedestrian avenue offering a direct route from the JLT Metro station to the far side of the lake, improving accessibility and connectivity.
The redevelopment signals a significant step in JLT’s evolution, positioning Lake D as a modern lifestyle destination while preserving the essence of its waterfront setting.
