Ras Al Khaimah Unveils Record-Breaking New Year’s Eve Fireworks Plan

Ras Al Khaimah is set to welcome the New Year with its most ambitious celebration ever, unveiling plans for a record-breaking New Year’s Eve fireworks spectacle aimed at setting a new Guinness World Record. The emirate’s 2026 celebrations will blend cutting-edge pyrotechnics, illuminated drones and laser technology to create an unforgettable experience on a global scale.

Inspired by themes of strength, renewal and Ras Al Khaimah’s forward-looking spirit, the 15-minute midnight fireworks show will be among the largest in the world. The display will stretch across an impressive six kilometres, spanning from Marjan Island to Al Hamra, transforming the coastline into a dazzling canvas of light and colour.

More than 2,300 drones, including pyro and laser drones, will take to the skies, forming large-scale choreographed patterns synchronized with the fireworks. As the clock strikes midnight, the celebration will reach its climax with the launch of the largest single firework ever attempted, marking a historic moment for the emirate.

The New Year’s Eve programme will feature two separate fireworks displays. The first will light up the sky above Corniche Al Qawasim at 8pm, offering an early celebration for families. The main event will follow at midnight, with Ras Al Khaimah’s signature 15-minute show combining advanced pyrotechnics and drone formations over Marjan Island and Al Hamra Bay.

Festivities will begin earlier in the day with the free-entry Ras Al Khaimah New Year’s Eve Festival at Al Hamra. Opening from 2pm, the festival will feature live entertainment, food trucks, carnival-style attractions and activities for all ages. The main stage will host an international line-up of performers, creating a lively atmosphere ahead of the midnight countdown.

To ensure smooth access, multiple parking zones will be available around the festival area, including a dedicated section for caravans and camping. Visitors are required to register their vehicles in advance at website, with mandatory registration determining parking access and providing essential information on entry and exit routes.

With its record-breaking ambitions, family-friendly festivities and world-class fireworks, Ras Al Khaimah is once again positioning itself as one of the region’s top destinations to ring in the New Year.
