Meet Mr India 2025 Winners Shevam, Abel and Shiv: ‘Before This, I Was Working in a Bank’

The spotlight shone bright at the Mr India 2025 grand finale, but it was the heartfelt stories behind the crowns that truly captivated audiences. The winners Shevam Kumar, Abel Mathew, and Shiv Malhotra  are now household names, not just for their looks and charisma but for their incredible personal journeys that led them to the top of India’s most prestigious men’s pageant.

For Shevam, who clinched the main title of Mr India 2025, the moment felt surreal. “Just last year, I was working full-time in a bank. I wore a suit every day but definitely not the runway kind,” he joked. Hailing from Patna, Shevam left behind a stable corporate career to chase a dream that seemed impossible at the time. “I always wanted more than a desk and a paycheck. Modeling was a distant dream, but here I am,” he said through tears of disbelief.

Abel Mathew, who was crowned Mr India International, brings with him a strong message of representation and resilience. A fitness coach and part-time musician from Kochi, Abel turned heads not only with his sculpted physique but also his powerful stage presence and personal story of overcoming self-doubt. “This win isn’t just mine,” he said. “It’s for every boy who was ever told he wasn’t ‘model material.’”

Meanwhile, Shiv Malhotra, named Mr India Supranational, won hearts with his quiet confidence and grounded nature. Originally from Delhi and trained in acting, Shiv credits his theatre background for helping him navigate the emotional and psychological demands of the competition. “People think it’s all about abs and jawlines, but this contest demands much more. You need patience, empathy, and real self-awareness.”

This year’s edition of Mr India was praised for celebrating diversity in background, body types, and languages, setting a new tone for pageants in India. The event focused not only on looks but also on leadership, social awareness, and individuality redefining what it means to be a modern-day role model.

As the trio now prepares for international platforms, one thing is clear: Mr India 2025 wasn’t just a crowning moment it was a launchpad for three extraordinary journeys that are just getting started.
