BNADO and AIU Poised to Deepen Anti-Doping Collaboration

The Bahrain National Anti-Doping Organization (BNADO) is ramping up its global anti-doping commitments following a recent strategic meeting with the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). In a display of proactive international engagement, BNADO CEO Saad Mubarak Alnefaie reviewed the organization’s key milestones for the year, including its robust preparations for Bahraini athletes’ participation in the Paris 2024 Olympics. The meeting focused on identifying and enhancing collaboration areas, notably the exchange of expertise and joint strategies to elevate anti-doping standards. Officials also discussed BNADO’s upcoming new headquarters, set to open in October 2025, which will serve as a central hub for its expanded operations B-NADO.

BNADO’s journey toward international recognition has also gained significant traction: the organization recently achieved accreditation from WADA, affirming its compliance with the rigorous International Standard for anti-doping practices. BNADO’s leadership highlighted that this recognition underscores Bahrain’s dedication to promoting fair play and advancing the vision of doping-free sports nationwide

This increasingly close alignment with the AIU and WADA signals BNADO’s commitment to forging strong partnerships, deploying best practices, and ensuring effective governance. As BNADO finalizes its strategy ahead of its new facility’s launch, stakeholders in Bahraini sport appear unified in a renewed mission: upholding athlete integrity and reinforcing Bahrain’s role in global clean sport initiatives.
