Bollywood is set to welcome a fresh face with a powerhouse of talent Sofia Parveen, who steps into the limelight as a lead heroine in Rajiv Rai’s much‐anticipated thriller ZORA, releasing 8th August 2025.
Armed with over five years of theater experience, Sofia is no stranger to performance. She has trained extensively in acting, dancing, improvisation, and stagecraft, working on award‐winning plays, national musicals, and street performances. Her theater background has honed her voice modulation, emotional depth, and character adaptability skills that translate powerfully to the big screen.
In ZORA, she plays Bindu, a mysterious and emotionally layered character central to the film’s murder‐crime plot. Rajiv Rai’s decision to cast Sofia wasn’t made lightly. Industry insiders say he was captivated by her ability to balance vulnerability with strength in her audition.
Speaking about her role, Sofia shares, “Bindu is unlike anything I’ve played before. She’s unpredictable and complex, and every expression matters. My theatre training really helped me live her truth.”
