Saudi Armed Forces Arrive in Egypt for ‘Bright Star’ Military Exercise

Units from the Saudi Armed Forces have arrived in the Arab Republic of Egypt to participate in the upcoming ‘Bright Star 2025’ joint military exercise, a long-standing multinational training operation designed to enhance regional defense cooperation and interoperability.

The deployment underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening military readiness and building strategic alliances with partner nations. Bright Star 2025, hosted at multiple military bases across Egypt, will bring together forces from dozens of countries, including the United States, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and other allied states.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Defense, the participating forces include units from the Royal Saudi Land Forces, Royal Saudi Air Force, and Royal Saudi Naval Forces, along with specialized support teams. These units will engage in complex field drills, live-fire exercises, and command post operations simulating various combat scenarios.

Military officials emphasized that such joint exercises are vital for boosting coordination, testing advanced systems, and preparing for multi-domain operations. They also serve as a platform for sharing tactical knowledge, improving crisis response capabilities, and reinforcing collective regional security.

Bright Star is one of the largest and most significant military exercises in the Middle East and North Africa region. Held biennially since 1980, it reflects a deepening level of cooperation between participating nations in the face of evolving security challenges.
