Pakistan Defeat UAE to Stay Unbeaten in ACC Rising Stars Tournament

Pakistan continued their dominant run in the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, defeating the UAE by nine wickets in their final Group B match at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. The win marks Pakistan’s third consecutive victory, ensuring they top Group B with a perfect record.

Chasing a modest target, Pakistan wasted no time and sealed the match in just 5.2 overs, losing only one wicket in the process. The early breakthrough for the UAE came when Mohammad Rohid dismissed Mohammad Naeem for six off five deliveries. But that was the only moment of joy for the hosts.

From there, Maaz Sadaqat and Ghazi Ghori took complete control, putting together a fluent 50-run stand for the second wicket to guide Pakistan home comfortably. Sadaqat was particularly destructive, smashing an unbeaten 37 off 15 balls, which included four boundaries and three towering sixes. Ghori provided crucial support with 16 off 12, hitting three fours.

Earlier, the UAE struggled after being put in to bat first. Their innings faltered immediately when opener Ahmed Tariq fell for a first-ball duck to Shahid Aziz. Captain Alishan Sharafu soon followed, dismissed LBW by Arafat Minhas for just three. With three wickets falling inside the powerplay, the UAE never managed to build momentum.

Pakistan’s all-round performance ensures they progress to the next stage as the only unbeaten team in Group B, further solidifying their credentials as one of the tournament’s strongest contenders.
