Dubai waives mosque parking fees for Ramadan 2026, introduces split-shift schedule

Dubai’s public parking operator, Parkin, has confirmed a full waiver of fees for mosque-designated parking spaces (Zones M and MP) throughout Ramadan 2026.

The initiative will provide 24/7 free parking at approximately 59 mosque locations across the emirate, making it easier for worshippers to attend daily prayers and Taraweeh during the holy month.

Free mosque parking throughout Ramadan

Under the announcement, all mosque-specific parking zones marked M and MP will remain free at all times for the duration of Ramadan. The move is aimed at easing access during peak prayer periods, particularly Isha and Taraweeh, when mosque attendance significantly increases.

Split-shift parking system for other zones

For all other public parking areas, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a split-shift paid parking schedule from Monday to Saturday.

Here’s how the Ramadan 2026 schedule works:

Time Period Parking Status Purpose
8:00 AM – 6:00 PM Paid Standard daytime charging
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Free Iftar and Maghrib prayer window
8:00 PM – 12:00 AM Paid Evening social and prayer hours
12:00 AM – 8:00 AM Free Overnight exemption

The two-hour free window between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM is designed to accommodate Iftar gatherings and Maghrib prayers.

Important exceptions to note

While most zones follow the adjusted Ramadan schedule, there are key exceptions:

  • Sundays: Public parking remains free all day across most zones, except for areas subject to 24-hour tariffs.

  • Multi-story car parks: These facilities will continue operating under 24/7 paid parking with no Ramadan concessions.

  • High-demand zones: Locations such as Al Aweer Fruit and Vegetable Market (Zone 614V) and Bawaabat Alkhayl (Zone 365N) may continue 24-hour paid tariffs. However, they will still observe the daily 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM free window.

Supporting Ramadan mobility

The temporary adjustments reflect Dubai’s broader efforts to ease mobility and support residents during Ramadan. By removing fees at mosque-designated spaces and introducing flexible evening exemptions, authorities aim to reduce congestion and improve accessibility during peak prayer times.

Motorists are advised to check zone codes on signage or via official RTA channels to confirm applicable timings and fees in their area.
