Abu Dhabi Imposes Temporary Heavy Vehicle Ban on Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street This Weekend
Abu Dhabi has announced a temporary restriction on heavy vehicles and labour transport buses along Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street this weekend as part of its ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow and enhance road safety across the capital.
The restriction, implemented by the Integrated Transport Centre’s Abu Dhabi Mobility division, will be in place on Saturday, 13 December 2025, from 3:00 am to 10:00 am.
During these seven hours, heavy goods vehicles and buses transporting workers will be prohibited from entering or travelling on the designated stretch of the road. Authorities clarified that the measure is designed to support early-morning traffic management operations, reducing congestion and ensuring safer conditions for all commuters.
Abu Dhabi Mobility urged drivers to adhere to the guidelines, plan ahead, and use alternative routes to avoid delays. Officials emphasised that the move is temporary and part of broader efforts to maintain smooth mobility across key corridors of the city.
The advisory comes amid the emirate’s continued push toward safer, more efficient transport systems a priority reflected in periodic traffic restrictions, infrastructure upgrades, and enhanced enforcement of road safety measures.
