AirAsia X opens cabin crew recruitment in the Middle East, including Bahrain
AirAsia X has officially opened applications for cabin crew positions across the Middle East, confirming Bahrain as a key recruitment market as of late January 2026.
The hiring drive follows a major strategic partnership signed in late 2025, under which AirAsia designated Bahrain as its primary Middle East hub to support the airline’s next phase of global expansion.
Recruitment linked to Bahrain expansion
The current recruitment initiative is part of AirAsia X’s first-phase intake of approximately 1,000 cabin crew members, aimed at supporting long-haul and future network growth.
At present, the airline is collecting candidate profiles, with shortlisted applicants to be invited for interviews at select regional locations across the Middle East.
While recruitment is being conducted regionally, successful candidates must be willing to relocate to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which will serve as the operational base.
Cabin crew eligibility requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
-
Age: 18 years or older
-
Education: Minimum high school certificate
-
Physical requirements: Must meet AirAsia’s height and arm-reach standards required for aircraft safety operations
-
Appearance: Professional grooming standards with no visible tattoos while in uniform
-
Language skills: Fluency in spoken and written English; additional languages are considered an advantage
How to apply
Interested candidates can register and submit their profiles through the official AirAsia Careers Portal.
In Bahrain, local aviation training and preparation centers, including TIAH Academy, are also offering guidance, application support, and updates for Bahraini nationals interested in joining the airline.
Growing opportunities for regional talent
Industry observers note that the move signals AirAsia X’s long-term commitment to building a Middle East-based talent pipeline, with Bahrain positioned as a strategic gateway between Asia, Europe, and Africa.
With aviation recruitment accelerating across the region in 2026, the AirAsia X drive is expected to attract strong interest from aspiring cabin crew seeking international exposure and career growth with a major low-cost long-haul carrier.
