Alia Bhatt in talks for relationship drama ‘Housewife’ with Drishyam 2 director

Alia Bhatt is reportedly in discussions for a new film titled Housewife, a relationship-driven drama that is expected to be directed by Drishyam 2 filmmaker Abhishek Pathak. If the project moves forward, it would mark Alia’s first collaboration with the director.

According to reports, actor Rajkummar Rao has been approached to play the male lead, with conversations currently underway. While the casting has not yet been finalized, the pairing has already generated interest, as Housewife would mark the first time Alia and Rajkummar share screen space.

The film is said to explore interpersonal dynamics and emotional conflicts, placing relationships at the center of its narrative rather than spectacle. However, the project is still in early stages and is expected to progress only after Abhishek Pathak completes work on Drishyam 3.

Alia Bhatt, meanwhile, has a packed schedule. She is currently occupied with Alpha and Love & War, making Housewife a potential addition to her growing slate rather than an immediate next release.

With key elements still under discussion, official announcements are awaited. If confirmed, Housewife could add another layered, performance-driven drama to Alia Bhatt’s diverse filmography.
