Bahrain to Host BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026 — First in the Middle East

Bahrain is set to make history by hosting the BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026 in Manama from 7 to 14 February, under the patronage of HH Sh Khaled. The hosting agreement was signed by Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa and Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, marking the first time this prestigious event will take place in the Middle East.

The championship’s official logo, inspired by a shuttlecock and traditional Bahraini wooden doors, reflects the nation’s rich cultural heritage while symbolising the spirit of international sportsmanship. Bahrain’s strong track record in para sports, combined with its proven organisational capabilities, is expected to deliver a world-class tournament.

Officials have highlighted that hosting this championship is a proud milestone for the Kingdom, demonstrating Bahrain’s commitment to inclusive sports and positioning it as a leading destination for international para sporting events in the region.
