IlBarza Café Opens Beside Bahrain’s Iconic Tree of Life

A new café experience has arrived in Bahrain with the opening of IlBarza (Barza Café) beside the iconic Tree of Life in the Sakhir desert. The café began welcoming visitors on January 13, 2026, offering a rare opportunity to relax and unwind next to one of the Kingdom’s most famous natural landmarks.

Operating seasonally from January 13 through March 27, 2026, IlBarza is scheduled to open daily starting from 4:00 PM, allowing visitors to enjoy the desert atmosphere during the cooler evening hours. Often mentioned in connection with OCTO, the café is designed to encourage guests to “linger longer” at the site while enjoying refreshments in a tranquil setting.

Set beside the legendary 400-year-old Tree of Life, IlBarza blends café culture with heritage and nature. The solitary Prosopis cineraria tree, which stands in a barren landscape approximately 40 kilometers from Manama, has long fascinated visitors due to its survival in harsh desert conditions with no visible water source.

IlBarza follows in the footsteps of earlier temporary concepts in the area. In late 2023, a pop-up café known as @viiicafe (Vii) briefly operated near the site, highlighting a growing trend of curated, seasonal experiences around Bahrain’s natural attractions.

With its unique location and limited-time operation, IlBarza adds a fresh dimension to visits to the Tree of Life, combining scenery, culture, and café hospitality in one of Bahrain’s most striking desert settings.
