Activities of the Oman International Rally 2026 officially kicked off today in the Wilayat of Sohar, North Al Batinah Governorate, marking the second consecutive year the city has hosted the launch of the international motorsport event.

A press conference was held to inaugurate the rally, attended by prominent drivers and team managers, who confirmed their readiness for the competition and expressed confidence in the rally routes prepared for this year’s race.

Ahead of the main stages, a public demonstration was organised near the Sohar Entertainment Centre, where drivers showcased their racing skills in an exciting display that drew strong public interest and heightened anticipation for the start of the competitive stages.

The rally is organised by the Oman Automobile Association and coincides with the Sohar Entertainment Festival, adding to the festive atmosphere in the city. The event is being held with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Office of the Governor of North Al Batinah, and Toyota Oman, the official host of the rally.

This year’s edition features the participation of 20 competitors from various countries, highlighting the rally’s growing international profile.

The long stages of the competition begin tomorrow, Friday, January 23, starting with a 15-kilometre stage scheduled to commence at 9:13 am, followed by a 19-kilometre stage and a 14-kilometre stage later in the day.

The Oman International Rally 2026 will conclude on Saturday, January 24, with the official closing ceremony set to take place at the Sohar Entertainment Centre.
