Send Money to India via Fawri App Using UPI: A Fast and Secure Method
Sending money from Bahrain to India has become faster and more convenient than ever through the Fawri app, which now enables direct transfers to Indian bank accounts using the UPI (Unified Payments Interface) network. This innovative service, available through several banks in Bahrain including Bank AlJazira’s Fawri Money Transfer Services, allows customers to send funds quickly, securely, and efficiently to their loved ones in India.
To use the service, customers simply need to log in to their bank’s online portal or open the Fawri app such as Aljazira Online and navigate to the money transfer section. Within the menu, users can select the appropriate remittance service for India, such as Direct Bank Deposit or a partnered option like Federal Bank, which is integrated with the UPI network. Once the service is selected, the sender adds the beneficiary’s details, including their name, bank account number with IFSC code, or their UPI ID (Virtual Payment Address).
After entering the beneficiary information, the user specifies the amount in Bahraini Dinars (BHD) that they wish to transfer. The Fawri system automatically converts this amount into Indian Rupees (INR) for deposit into the recipient’s account. Once all details are reviewed and confirmed, the sender authorizes the transaction using a secure PIN or biometric verification. The process is designed for ease and speed, ensuring that the transfer is completed almost instantly.
One of the biggest advantages of using the Fawri app for UPI-enabled transfers is the convenience and speed it offers. Unlike traditional wire transfers that can take days to process, this service enables instant or near-instant remittances. Additionally, the system supports both NRE and NRO accounts, making it suitable for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs). The transaction begins in BHD and is received in INR, offering a seamless experience across currencies.
NRIs in Bahrain can also benefit from UPI-enabled apps linked to their Indian bank accounts, even if they use an international mobile number. Major Indian banks such as ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and Federal Bank now support UPI services for NRIs with foreign mobile numbers, provided these are linked to their NRE or NRO accounts.
In summary, the integration of the Fawri remittance system with India’s UPI network marks a significant advancement in cross-border financial technology. It simplifies how NRIs in Bahrain send money to India, ensuring secure, quick, and cost-effective transactions that strengthen financial connectivity between the two nations.
