“Aerofo” Flying Shoes at GITEX 2029? AI-Generated Videos Spark Viral Misconception
Recent viral videos suggesting the launch of “Aerofo” or “Aerofoot” flying shoes at GITEX 2029 are not real. The videos, which depict people floating in futuristic footwear, were created using AI by Dubai-based digital artist Jyo John Mulloor and do not represent any actual product or company presentation at a future GITEX event.
The videos first appeared on Facebook and Instagram in October 2025 and showcase Mulloor’s signature style of AI-powered digital art and surrealist concepts. In these clips, individuals appear to float and move effortlessly in “flying shoes,” creating a visually striking but entirely fictional scenario.
The misconception stems from video captions referencing GITEX 2029, Dubai’s renowned technology exhibition. Although GITEX is a real event, GITEX 2029 has not yet occurred, and there is no official exhibitor list confirming any such product. The videos are purely speculative and should not be interpreted as evidence of a future technology launch.
Experts note that AI-generated content can easily go viral, often blurring the line between reality and fiction, and this instance highlights the importance of verifying sources before sharing futuristic concepts online.
