Bahrain International Airport records strongest year with 9.74m passengers and record cargo volumes
Bahrain International Airport (BIA) has posted its strongest annual performance to date, driven by a steady rise in passenger traffic and record-breaking cargo volumes.
According to the latest figures released by the Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the Kingdom’s aviation hub welcomed 9.74 million passengers in 2025, marking a 4.2 percent increase compared to the 9.35 million travelers recorded in 2024.
In addition to passenger growth, the airport handled a record 405,217 tonnes of cargo, reflecting a 3.2 percent rise year-on-year. The milestone underscores Bahrain’s expanding role in regional logistics and freight operations.
Officials said the strong performance reinforces Bahrain’s position as a key regional aviation gateway, supporting both global trade and international connectivity. The growth comes amid continued investment in airport infrastructure, airline partnerships, and route expansion strategies aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s aviation sector.
With both passenger and cargo numbers reaching new highs, BIA’s 2025 results highlight sustained recovery momentum and long-term confidence in Bahrain’s air transport industry.
