Prince William Heads to Brazil for Earthshot Prize 2025 with Kylie Minogue, Vettel & Global Stars

LONDON —

Global celebrities and changemakers will gather in Rio de Janeiro on November 5, 2025, for the next edition of the Earthshot Prize Awards, hosted by Prince William and powered by an international lineup of artists and environmental advocates.

Created by the British royal in 2020, the Earthshot Prize awards £1 million ($1.3 million) each to five winners for breakthrough solutions to the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. This year’s star-studded ceremony will take place in Brazil for the first time just weeks ahead of the COP30 UN Climate Summit, also set to be hosted in the country.

Joining Prince William on the night will be an eclectic mix of global talent. Pop icon Kylie Minogue, Formula One legend Sebastian Vettel, and Canadian singer Shawn Mendes will feature alongside Brazilian musical icons Gilberto Gil, Seu Jorge, and Anitta in what promises to be an unforgettable evening celebrating climate innovation.

The event will be hosted by Brazilian TV personality Luciano Huck, with special appearances from Olympic gymnast Rebeca Andrade, football legend Cafu, and four-time F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, who has become a prominent voice in the environmental movement since retiring in 2022.

In a new promotional trailer titled “Meet the World’s True Action Heroes”, Matthew McConaughey lends his voice to spotlight the groundbreaking work of Earthshot finalists individuals and organizations working on solutions across climate action, nature restoration, waste reduction, and more.

Jason Knauf, CEO of the Earthshot Prize, noted: “With two weeks to go, we are thrilled to announce the support of global artists, performers, and exceptional Brazilian talent joining us in Rio.”

The Earthshot Prize, inspired by President John F. Kennedy’s Moonshot initiative, has quickly become one of the most prestigious environmental honors, accelerating global efforts to protect the planet. Winners are selected from hundreds of nominees and provided funding, visibility, and support to scale their solutions.

Prince William, who will also represent the UK at COP30, is continuing the environmental legacy of his father, King Charles III, a longstanding advocate for climate and conservation efforts
