Middle East Film & Comic Con 2026 Kicks Off Guest Announcements
Pop culture fans can officially mark their calendars as Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) returns to Abu Dhabi from April 24 to 26, 2026, promising another blockbuster celebration of fandom.
Held at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, the region’s largest pop culture festival will once again bring together film, television, gaming, anime, comics, and cosplay in a three-day experience designed for fans of all ages.
Record-breaking momentum-
MEFCC is riding a wave of success following a record-breaking 2025 edition, which welcomed more than 46,000 visitors. Last year’s lineup featured major international stars including Andrew Garfield, Charlie Cox, and Natalia Dyer, cementing the event’s status as a must-attend fixture on the global pop culture calendar.
Show Director Loy Pinheiro says the 2026 edition will raise the bar even higher. “MEFCC is where community, passion and fandom are celebrated without limits,” he said, teasing an even bigger year ahead.
First celebrity guest announced-
Organisers have already revealed the first major guest for 2026: Christopher Judge, best known as the iconic voice of Kratos in the God of War video game series. His appearance sets the tone for what promises to be a headline-grabbing guest list.
More celebrity announcements are expected in the coming weeks, including international film and TV stars, as well as English and Japanese voice actors.
Renowned Malaysian comic book artist Alan Quah has also been confirmed. Quah has illustrated more than 400 covers across legendary franchises such as The Marvels, Wolverine, Star Wars, and Green Lantern.
Tickets selling fast-
Demand for MEFCC 2026 is already high. Super Early Bird tickets sold out within three days, followed quickly by Early Bird allocations.
Standard tickets went on sale on January 21, starting from Dh160. VIP packages are also available, priced between Dh1,300 and Dh5,880, offering perks such as exclusive swag bags, Meet the Star vouchers, and fast-track entry.
Competitions and creative showcases-
MEFCC’s popular Cosplay Competition is now open for registrations. Contestants will be judged on costume quality, craftsmanship, and performance, with the winner earning the chance to represent the UAE at the World Cosplay Summit Finals in Nagoya, Japan.
A dedicated Cosplay Workshop will take place on January 31 at Rove, City Centre Deira, where previous winners will share expert tips on competing at MEFCC.
Filmmakers are also invited to participate in the Short Film Competition, themed “Dreams”. Submissions close on February 6.
What to expect at MEFCC 2026-
The show floor will feature multiple themed zones, including immersive Gaming Zones, the anime-focused Otaku District, and a bustling Artist Alley showcasing original artwork and independent creators.
