Dubai’s UAE Flag Garden Is Closing This Weekend — Here’s Your Last Chance to Visit

If you haven’t made it to Dubai’s stunning UAE Flag Garden yet, time is officially running out. The much-loved installation at Umm Suqeim Beach will close on Saturday, January 10, marking the end of its 12th edition.

The garden has become a seasonal highlight in Dubai, drawing crowds eager to capture picture-perfect moments among thousands of fluttering UAE flags, with the Burj Al Arab rising dramatically in the background. This weekend is your final chance to see it before it disappears until next year.

A 12-Year Patriotic Tradition-

Now in its twelfth year, the UAE Flag Garden has firmly established itself as one of Dubai’s most photographed outdoor installations during the national celebration season. It forms part of the wider UAE Flag Day and National Day festivities, attracting residents, citizens, and tourists alike.

This year’s edition is particularly special. Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Government, has arranged around 11,000 UAE flags to create striking aerial portraits of the nation’s founding fathers Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. From ground level, visitors experience a vibrant sea of red, green, white, and black. From above, the flags form detailed and powerful tributes to the two leaders.

An Iconic Location-

Set on Umm Suqeim Beach, right next to the Burj Al Arab and close to the newly opened Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, the garden’s location only adds to its appeal. The mix of patriotic colours, golden sand, turquoise sea, and one of Dubai’s most recognisable landmarks has made it a social media favourite.

Every year, the flag garden fills Instagram feeds across the UAE. Families arrive with picnic mats, couples pose for engagement photos, and visitors queue patiently for the perfect shot. It’s one of those rare attractions that truly appeals to everyone.

Free Entry, Open to All-

One of the best things about the UAE Flag Garden is that it’s completely free to visit. There are no tickets or bookings required visitors can simply turn up, stroll through the display, and enjoy the atmosphere.

The installation forms part of the wider Zayed and Rashid commemorations across Dubai, celebrating the vision, unity, and legacy of the UAE’s founding fathers.

Don’t Miss It-

With the garden closing this Saturday, you only have a few days left to experience it. As the final weekend approaches, crowds are expected to grow, so visiting earlier in the day may help avoid the rush.

Whether you’re after Instagram-worthy photos, showing visitors a uniquely Dubai experience, or just enjoying a scenic walk by the sea, the UAE Flag Garden is well worth the visit.

It will return next year for its 13th edition  but for now, this weekend is your last chance to see 11,000 flags turned into art on the beach, watched over by Dubai’s most famous hotel.
