Qatar Ministry of Interior announces official working hours for service and security departments
The Ministry of Interior, Qatar, has officially announced the working hours for its service and security departments, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining public safety while ensuring convenient access to essential government services.
As part of the announcement, the Ministry confirmed that all units responsible for security operations and traffic investigations will operate around the clock (24/7). These include departments handling emergency responses, accident investigations, and law enforcement duties, ensuring that assistance is available at any time of the day or night.
This round-the-clock operation is particularly crucial in high-traffic and densely populated areas such as Doha, where incidents can occur at any hour. Continuous availability allows authorities to respond quickly to emergencies, manage traffic flow efficiently, and maintain public order across the country.
In contrast, service-oriented departments, such as those dealing with documentation, licensing, residency permits, and other administrative services, will function during designated official working hours. While exact timings may vary depending on the department and location, most service centers typically operate during standard daytime hours on working days.
Residents and citizens are encouraged to verify timings before visiting service centers to avoid delays. The Ministry also continues to promote the use of its digital platforms, which allow users to access a wide range of services online. Through these platforms, individuals can renew documents, book appointments, submit applications, and track requests without needing to visit offices physically.
The Ministry emphasized that traffic patrol units will remain fully operational at all times, monitoring roads and responding to incidents promptly. Motorists are advised to follow traffic regulations, remain cautious during peak hours, and comply with instructions issued by authorities to ensure safety for all road users.
Additionally, the public is urged to stay informed through official communication channels for any updates, especially during public holidays, special events, or unforeseen circumstances that may affect service hours.
By maintaining 24-hour security and traffic services alongside structured administrative working hours, the Ministry aims to strike a balance between operational efficiency and public convenience. The initiative reflects Qatar’s ongoing efforts to deliver reliable, responsive, and modern government services while prioritizing the safety and well-being of its residents.
