Qatar’s Interior Ministry issues wet weather driving advisory amid heavy rain

The Ministry of Interior has urged motorists to follow safety guidelines while driving in wet conditions, as heavy rain and thunderstorms swept parts of Qatar on Monday morning.

In its advisory, the ministry emphasized the importance of caution on rain-affected roads, warning that reduced visibility and slippery surfaces could increase the risk of accidents. Drivers were specifically advised to ensure their windshield wipers are in proper working condition to maintain clear visibility during rainfall.

Authorities also encouraged motorists to reduce speed, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and avoid sudden braking. The use of headlights in low-visibility conditions was also highlighted as an essential safety measure.
