Millions Gather at Al-Sabeen Square in Yemen to Celebrate Prophet Muhammad

In an awe-inspiring display of devotion and unity, millions of Yemenis gathered at Al-Sabeen Square in Sana’a to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). The celebration marked one of the largest public gatherings in Yemen’s recent history, with people pouring in from the capital and surrounding governorates from the early morning hours.
The massive square Yemen’s largest public venue was filled to capacity, while surrounding streets also overflowed with worshippers. The air was filled with the sounds of religious chants, nasheeds (hymns), and praises, creating a spiritual atmosphere that reflected both deep reverence and communal unity.
The event was peaceful, vibrant, and deeply moving for attendees, many of whom travelled long distances to be part of this sacred day. Participants expressed that beyond the religious significance, the gathering symbolized hope, peace, and unity in a country still facing social and political challenges.
