Al Ain Crowned Capital of Arab Tourism 2026, Celebrating Heritage and Cultural Excellence
Al Ain has been officially named the Capital of Arab Tourism for 2026, a prestigious title announced by the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism during its 28th session held in Baghdad, Iraq.
This recognition underscores the UAE’s growing international appeal and strong tourism competitiveness, reaffirming Al Ain’s status as a leading cultural and heritage destination on the regional and global tourism map.
A high-level delegation from the UAE, led by Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, represented the country at the session. The designation reflects the qualitative progress achieved through the UAE’s strategic vision, which prioritises investment in tourism as a key engine of economic growth and diversification.
The honour also supports the goals of the UAE Tourism Strategy 2031, aimed at strengthening the national tourism identity, attracting millions of hotel guests annually, and increasing tourism’s contribution to the country’s GDP
According to tourism officials, the title celebrates Al Ain’s rich heritage, inspiring cultural sites, and exceptional natural landmarks, positioning the oasis city as a unique destination that seamlessly blends authenticity and innovation.
This accolade builds on Al Ain’s recent success as the Gulf Tourism Capital for 2025, further establishing the city’s reputation as a must-visit destination for travellers seeking meaningful cultural experiences.
