Bahrain Cricket Club A Clinch Division A Title with Dominant Final Victory

Manama, Bahrain — October 2025:

Bahrain Cricket Club (BCC) A emerged as the champions of the Khalid Bin Hamad Cricket League 2025 - Series One Division A, following a commanding 41-run win over NSB Lagoona in the final held at Busaiteen Ground 20.

Batting first after winning the toss, BCC A faced an early setback with Imran Butt dismissed for a duck in the opening over. But opener Shahbaz Badar took control of the innings with a composed yet powerful 78 off 56 balls, anchoring the side to a strong position despite a middle-order wobble.

Badar's knock featured seven boundaries and a six, keeping the scoreboard ticking even as wickets tumbled around him. A brief cameo from Usama Pervaiz (19 off 13) provided some momentum, but NSB Lagoona’s spinner Naeem Abbas pegged back the middle order with a superb 3-wicket spell, ending with figures of 3 for 18.

Late fireworks from Imran Butt (23 off 16) helped BCC A reach a competitive total of 161 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.

NSB Lagoona's response got off to a disastrous start as pace spearhead Ali Dawood tore through the top order with two wickets in his first over. Dawood finished with 3 for 26, while tight spells from Abdul Majid (1/25) and Naeem Gull (1/15) maintained the pressure.

Only Bilal Badshah stood out for NSB Lagoona with a fighting 35 off 31 balls, but a lack of support from the other end proved costly. The game concluded in emphatic fashion as BCC A skipper Anasim Khan cleaned up the tail, taking 3 wickets for just 7 runs in 10 balls to seal the match. NSB Lagoona were bowled out for 120 in the 18th over.

Shahbaz Badar was named Player of the Match for his match-defining innings.

The trophy presentation was attended by Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF) officials and supporters. BCF Advisory Board Chairman Mohammad Mansoor praised both teams for a thrilling finale, saying:

“I extend our heartiest congratulations to our magnificent A Division team champions and the runners-up for their spectacular display.”

BCF President Sami Ali emphasized the win as a validation of BCF’s grassroots initiatives:

“It’s not just about winning a trophy; it’s about our development pipeline and the bright future of Bahrain’s cricketing talent.”

As part of the ongoing celebrations, BCF is hosting a special Women’s Cricket Week event today at Water Garden City, featuring a live telecast of the India vs England ICC Women’s World Cup match starting at 4 PM. The event is open to all families and cricket fans.
