Bahrain Ranks 3rd in Arab Region, 7th Globally for Startup Ecosystem

Manama, Bahrain :

Bahrain continues to make its mark as a regional hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, ranking 3rd in the Arab region and 7th globally in startup ecosystem strength, according to a report published by Arab Founders in May 2025.

The report evaluated countries on a range of indicators including ease of doing business, access to funding, infrastructure, innovation, and governmental support for entrepreneurs. Bahrain’s high ranking reflects its robust startup policies, rapidly growing tech infrastructure, and strong investor networks.

This recognition solidifies Bahrain’s position as a dynamic environment for startups, particularly in fintech, e-commerce, and clean tech sectors. The country’s forward-thinking regulations, such as the Regulatory Sandbox and cloud-first policy, have played a key role in fostering innovation and attracting regional and international entrepreneurs.

Officials from Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) welcomed the report’s findings, highlighting that the ranking reflects years of strategic investment in building a startup-friendly ecosystem.

Bahrain’s continued commitment to digital transformation, talent development, and cross-border collaboration is expected to further strengthen its global reputation as a startup powerhouse in the years ahead.
