Bahrain’s Passport Strengthens in 2025 with Increased Global Mobility

Bahrain’s passport continues its upward trajectory in 2025, reflecting the kingdom’s growing global connectivity and diplomatic outreach. According to early-year data from Arton Capital’s Passport Index, Bahrain now ranks 48th globally, marking a noticeable improvement in overall travel freedom for its citizens. This ranking is supported by expanded access to destinations around the world, with 56 countries offering visa-free entry and 45 granting visas on arrival, bringing the total instant-access destinations to 101. Meanwhile, 97 countries still require visas, though this number has been gradually decreasing as Bahrain strengthens bilateral relations and participates in wider international mobility initiatives.

The expansion of visa-free and visa-on-arrival options underscores Bahrain’s rising profile on the global stage. Increased mobility not only enhances travel convenience for citizens but also supports business, tourism, and cultural exchange. As more nations ease entry requirements for Bahrainis, the passport’s growing strength signals positive diplomatic progress and a promising future for international connectivity.
