Shah Rukh Khan Commands the Spotlight at Dubai Mall Global Fashion Awards

Dubai witnessed an unforgettable night of style and star power as Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan took centre stage at the Dubai Mall Global Fashion Awards, held at the Armani Hotel with the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain providing a dramatic backdrop.

With exclusive access to the event, captured a glamorous evening that celebrated fashion, creativity and cultural influence. The red carpet welcomed a mix of global designers, influencers, reality TV stars from Dubai Bling, and high-profile VIP guests, setting the tone for a night defined by elegance and energy.

When Shah Rukh Khan arrived, the atmosphere shifted instantly. The superstar embodied his signature blend of grace, wit and humility, effortlessly winning over the audience. One of the most talked-about moments of the night was the warm exchange between Khan and Emaar founder Mohamed Alabbar, as the longtime friends praised each other with genuine affection and mutual respect.

Khan, who was honoured with the Global Style Icon of the Year award, appeared visibly moved as he accepted the glass trophy. “Thank you for this incredible setting. I will be honest   I have never been to such a wonderful evening,” he said, thanking the audience for their warmth and hospitality.

The ceremony opened with a striking contemporary dance performance, accompanied by a live orchestra that became a defining feature of the evening. Among the attendees were prominent creatives and influencers including Dubai Bling star Farhana Bodi, the Hadban Twins, stylist Mai Galal, and digital creator Anas Bukhash, who later emerged as one of the night’s top award winners.

Manish Malhotra’s winning night in black-

Designer Manish Malhotra, who took home the Couture Designer of the Year award, made a strong style statement in an all-black ensemble. Speaking exclusively to Gulf News, Malhotra said he gravitates towards timeless classics, crediting his assistant designer for putting together the look.

His outfit featured a black velvet suit with a lace lapel, complemented by a lion brooch from the Manish Malhotra collection with the entire look sourced from his Dubai Mall store. While accepting his award, Malhotra expressed his joy at being honoured in the presence of Shah Rukh Khan, calling the moment especially meaningful due to their enduring friendship.

Reem Acra and runway elegance-

Designer Reem Acra presented one of the most visually striking segments of the evening, unveiling an elegant collection marked by refined silhouettes, intricate detailing and timeless craftsmanship, reinforcing her reputation as a global fashion force.

Celebrating regional talent and cultural impact-

The awards also spotlighted regional excellence. Mariam Yeya received Regional Designer of the Year, while Anas Bukhash was named Digital Creator of the Year. Nadine Kanso was honoured with the Cultural Impact Award for her work at the intersection of art, identity and design.

The Hadban Twins were crowned Fashion Influencers of the Year, cementing their status as regional style icons. The Emirati duo revealed they opted for futuristic tailoring and sunglasses for the occasion and shared a personal highlight. “We had dinner with Shah Rukh Khan the night before. He was wonderful,” “Even if you’re shy, go say hi he always makes you feel special.”

Brunello Cucinelli’s thoughtful message-

Italian luxury designer Brunello Cucinelli received the Outstanding Contribution to Fashion award, delivering a moving speech that focused on empathy, social responsibility and the importance of not turning away from poverty.

A legendary finale-

Another standout moment came with the Global Fashion Legend award presented to Giorgio Armani. Following a tribute video celebrating his legacy, Armani’s CEO Giuseppe Marsocci accepted the honour on his behalf, noting how unusual it felt to be present without the designer himself.
