Air India Express Introduces Low-Cost Extra Baggage Offer for Bahrain–India Travelers

Air India Express has rolled out a limited-period New Year promotion offering heavily discounted excess baggage rates for passengers travelling from Bahrain and other Gulf countries to India. The offer is aimed at making travel more affordable and convenient for passengers carrying additional luggage during the busy holiday season.

Under the promotion, travelers departing from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE can pre-book extra check-in baggage in 5 kg or 10 kg slabs at remarkably low prices. Passengers flying from Bahrain can secure additional baggage starting from just BHD 0.2, while similar nominal rates apply across other GCC markets.

The offer is valid for bookings made until January 31, 2026, with travel permitted between January 16 and March 10, 2026. It applies across all fare families, including Xpress Value, Xpress Flex, Xpress Biz, and even the baggage-free Xpress Lite option

To avail of the discounted rates, passengers must add the extra baggage during the initial booking process through the Air India Express website, mobile app, or authorized booking platforms. With the option to add up to 10 kg extra on top of the standard 30 kg allowance, travelers can carry as much as 40 kg of luggage at a fraction of the usual cost.

This initiative is expected to benefit passengers travelling with gifts, personal belongings, and essentials, offering greater flexibility and value while flying to India.
