Bahrain Victorious Riders Kick Off Italian Autumn Campaign at Giro dell’Emilia

Team Bahrain Victorious begins its Italian autumn campaign today as riders line up for the 108th edition of the Giro dell’Emilia, a prestigious one-day race famed for its punishing San Luca circuit and dramatic finishes. The race, which starts in Mirandola and stretches across 199km, is a key event on the late-season calendar and attracts some of the world’s top climbers and puncheurs.

The route begins with 68km of flat terrain before heading into a series of short but steep climbs, including San Lorenzo in Collina, Mongardino, Minzuno, and Monte Calvo each testing riders with gradients reaching up to 12%. These lead into the legendary final circuit up the San Luca climb, where many past champions have made decisive moves.

bahrain Victorious has a strong history at this race, notably Giovanni Visconti’s victory in 2017, followed by Vincenzo Nibali in second place a moment that marked the team’s debut season. Now, after returning last year from a four-season absence, the team is aiming high again.

“We have a really nice lineup, with three cards to play: Afonso Eulalio, Lenny Martinez, and Antonio Tiberi,” said Sports Director Roman Kreuziger, highlighting a dynamic mix of young talent and experienced climbers capable of making an impact on the final ascent.

The Giro dell’Emilia is also remembered for standout performances, including Tadej Pogacar’s rain-soaked win in the rainbow jersey and a hat-trick of victories for Primož Roglič. For Bahrain Victorious, today's race marks the beginning of a crucial autumn block in Italy a series of races that could help cap off their season on a high.
