Bapco Energies Renews Title Partnership for 2026 Bahrain Championship
Bapco Energies has renewed its agreement to continue as the Title Partner of the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, which will return to the DP World Tour calendar in 2026. The championship will take place from 29 January to 1 February 2026 at the Royal Golf Club in Bahrain, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Featuring a prize fund of $2.75 million, the tournament forms part of the DP World Tour’s International Swing, following the Dubai Invitational and the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, the first Rolex Series event of the season. The event has rapidly established itself as one of the region’s premier international sporting attractions.
The 2026 edition will highlight the DP World Tour’s top emerging talent, led by newly crowned Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Martin Couvra. The Frenchman, only the second from his country to win the prestigious award, enjoyed an outstanding 2025 season that included victory at the Turkish Airlines Open and six additional top-ten finishes. He will be joined by fellow rising stars Ángel Ayora of Spain and Australia’s Elvis Smylie, both of whom have made significant breakthroughs on Tour.
Bapco Energies first became Title Partner of the championship in 2025, having served as presenting partner in 2024. The partnership focuses on enhancing the overall tournament experience while strengthening Bahrain’s profile as a global golf destination. The event is also leading the way in sustainability, with environmental initiatives that include powering hospitality areas using solar energy and battery solutions.
Bapco Energies Group chief executive officer Mark Thomas said the renewed partnership reflects confidence in the tournament’s growth and its role in showcasing Bahrain on the international sporting stage. He noted that the collaboration reinforces the company’s commitment to national pride, community engagement, and international visibility.
Bahrain Olympic Committee secretary general Faris Al Kooheji highlighted the tournament’s contribution to positioning the kingdom as a world-class golfing destination, supported by visionary leadership and strong partnerships. DP World Tour Middle East director Tom Phillips added that the championship continues to grow in stature, with rising spectator numbers, strong fields, and a focus on environmentally sustainable event delivery.
Fans will be able to attend the tournament with free general admission tickets, alongside a range of premium hospitality experiences. Beyond the golf, visitors can enjoy family-friendly entertainment, including a 100-metre zip line over the Royal Golf Club, children’s activities, a traditional Bahraini suq, and diverse food and beverage offerings. Registration for free tickets to the 2026 Bahrain Championship is now open.
