G42 CEO Reveals Sheikh Tahnoun’s Abu Dhabi Home Was Designed Using 500 ChatGPT Prompts
In a powerful showcase of artificial intelligence in action, Peng Xiao, Group CEO of G42, revealed that Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s home in Abu Dhabi was designed with the help of 500 ChatGPT prompts.
Speaking during a conversation with Sam Altman, Co-founder and CEO of OpenAI, at Gitex Global 2025 in Dubai, Xiao said the home a Japanese-style seaside compound is a symbol of AI’s tangible role in shaping modern life.
“If you ever get a chance to visit the new home of my chairman, you will be witnessing this beautiful Japanese architecture compound by the sea in Abu Dhabi,” Xiao shared. “This brand-new Japanese compound was built in less than one year. The reason why it was so fast in delivery is because the entire design was done with him personally prompting ChatGPT 500 times to design this home.”
AI in Everyday Living
Xiao emphasized how deeply AI has already embedded itself into everyday experiences in the UAE from architecture to the workforce.
“If your home is designed by ChatGPT, and you have more AI agents than human employees, the future is here,” Xiao added, referencing Sheikh Tahnoun’s office, which reportedly operates with a 10:1 ratio of AI agents to human staff.
A Global AI Vision
Sam Altman, joining virtually from the U.S., praised the UAE for leading by example in global AI adoption.
“The UAE has been a wonderful partner for showing the world what's possible. They agree with us on the importance of making AI globally available and used responsibly,” said Altman.
Xiao echoed the sentiment, stating:
“AI is not just another technology that you can wait to deploy at the time of your choosing. AI is a new lifestyle we all have to now embrace.”
AI Powering Public Services
Highlighting AI's growing role in governance, Xiao cited a real-life example from Abu Dhabi, where over 1,000 government services have been consolidated into a single voice-based system, powered by ChatGPT and capable of communicating in over 90 languages handling everything from passport renewals to fee payments.
