Dubai Police Deploy AI-Powered Robocop Patrol at Global Village

Dubai Police Launch AI Robocop Patrols at Global Village
Dubai Police have officially launched an AI-powered autonomous robot patrol “DPR 02” at Global Village, marking a new milestone in the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance public safety through advanced technology. Unveiled at GITEX Global 2025, the robot began its first official mission on Wednesday, October 15, and is set to patrol the popular destination as part of a broader strategy for smart, connected policing.
The DPR 02 robocop is designed to operate autonomously, equipped with AI-powered navigation, 360-degree surveillance cameras, and advanced environmental sensors. It is capable of navigating complex public environments while maintaining a direct real-time connection with the Dubai Police Command and Control Centre, ensuring rapid, precise coordination in the field.
Dubai Police stated that the robot is not a replacement for human officers but rather a technological complement, providing continuous coverage and full situational awareness to enhance overall security and response times. The patrol reflects Dubai’s vision for intelligent, sustainable law enforcement solutions and reaffirms its position as a global leader in public safety innovation.
Capable of maneuvering through crowded areas, the patrol can quickly respond to incidents, identify risks, and assist in maintaining order across both urban and open environments. Dubai Police emphasized that the launch of DPR 02 aligns with the emirate’s smart city ambitions, showcasing a future where AI supports proactive, data-driven, and community-focused policing.
