Dubai Run 2025 Kicks Off in a Sea of Blue as Thousands Take Over Sheikh Zayed Road

Dubai Run 2025 got underway at 6:30am today, drawing runners of all ages and fitness levels to Sheikh Zayed Road, which was closed to traffic and converted into the world’s largest running track. The annual event, a flagship highlight of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, once again united families, fitness enthusiasts and first-time runners in a vibrant celebration of health and community spirit.

Before participants set off, the morning sky lit up with pyrotechnics, with fireworks bursting over Sheikh Zayed Road to mark the start of the run. The dazzling display energised crowds as they prepared to take on the popular 5km and 10km routes through the heart of the city.

Dubai Police confirmed that Sheikh Zayed Road would remain closed for the duration of the run and urged motorists to use alternative routes until all race activities conclude. The closure is a key part of ensuring safety and creating the iconic open-road running experience that has made Dubai Run one of the most recognisable mass-participation events in the region.

This year’s edition once again underscored Dubai’s growing culture of community wellness, with thousands participating to support the broader Dubai Fitness Challenge initiative a month-long push encouraging residents to commit to 30 minutes of daily activity.
