Emirates resumes limited flights from Dubai as regional airspace partially reopens

Dubai’s flagship airline, Emirates, has confirmed that it is operating a reduced flight schedule until further notice after parts of regional airspace were reopened for the safe movement of commercial flights.

The Dubai-based carrier said that more than 100 flights are scheduled to depart from and return to Dubai on March 5 and 6, marking a gradual resumption of operations following disruptions caused by heightened regional security concerns.

According to the airline, the limited services will transport passengers to their final destinations while also ensuring the movement of essential cargo, including perishables and pharmaceutical supplies.

“Emirates will continue to gradually build back its flying schedule, subject to airspace availability and all operational requirements being met,” the airline said in a statement.

The carrier emphasized that safety remains its top priority as flight operations are restored step by step. The pace of the recovery will depend on how quickly regional airspace restrictions are eased and operational conditions return to normal.

Passengers have been advised to proceed to the airport only if they hold a confirmed booking, as flight schedules may continue to change while authorities coordinate the reopening of regional air corridors.

The airline’s gradual resumption of services comes amid broader efforts by aviation authorities across the Gulf to stabilize air travel after temporary airspace closures disrupted flights and forced airlines to reroute or cancel services.

With Dubai serving as one of the world’s busiest international aviation hubs, the cautious restart of operations by Emirates is expected to play a key role in restoring passenger travel and global cargo connectivity in the region.
