Orry Fails to Appear Before Mumbai Police in ₹252-Crore Drugs Case, Seeks More Time
Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has failed to appear before the Mumbai Police in connection with the massive ₹252-crore drugs case involving the seizure of over 126 kg of mephedrone (MD). Orry was summoned by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Police crime branch following allegations made by alleged drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh, who was recently deported from Dubai.
According to officials, Orry was asked to present himself for questioning on November 20, but he did not appear. Instead, he sent his lawyer, who requested an extension and sought time until November 25. The summons were issued after Shaikh reportedly claimed during interrogation that he had organised extravagant parties in Dubai and Mumbai attended by several well-known personalities, including Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhant Kapoor, filmmakers Abbas–Mustan, rapper Loka, Orry, and politician Zeeshan Siddique.
The case dates back to March 2024, when police uncovered a mephedrone-manufacturing setup in Sangli district, resulting in the seizure of 126.14 kg of MD valued at approximately ₹252 crore. Shaikh, arrested after his deportation, allegedly confessed to hosting rave parties both in India and abroad for celebrities and high-profile attendees. Orry, a well-known socialite and pop-culture figure in Mumbai’s celebrity circle, has not yet publicly commented on the summons. Despite the controversy, he was spotted attending Travis Scott’s concert in Mumbai on November 19, which has further intensified public interest in the case.
As the investigation continues, officials are expected to question Orry once he appears before the ANC later this month.
