Road transfer launched for stranded UAE travellers via Muscat

Stranded travellers in the UAE now have an alternative route to continue their journeys, with special bus transfers operating from Sharjah to Oman.

Bus services from Al Jubail Bus Station to Muscat International Airport will run from March 3 to 5. The service is operated by Muwasalat in coordination with Oman Air and SalamAir.

From Muscat, eligible passengers can board onward international flights, offering a practical workaround for those affected by ongoing regional airspace disruptions.

Important requirements

Travellers planning to use the service should note the following conditions:

  • A confirmed flight booking with Oman Air or SalamAir is mandatory.

  • Passengers must be eligible for a visa on arrival in Oman.

  • Tickets are priced at 50 Omani riyals (OMR).

  • Seats must be booked in advance through official airline or transport channels.

Authorities hope the temporary road-air transfer option will ease congestion at UAE airports and provide relief to passengers facing delays and cancellations.

Travellers are advised to confirm eligibility requirements and booking details directly with the airlines before departure. Safe travels to all those continuing their journeys.
