Saudi Coffee Company Launches Third Edition of Saudi Sip of Excellence Competition
Saudi Coffee Company, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has announced the launch of the third edition of the Saudi Sip of Excellence competition, also known as Gems of Saudi, in cooperation with the Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE). The initiative aims to empower Saudi coffee farmers, elevate the quality of local coffee production, and reinforce the Kingdom’s position as a global producer of specialty coffee.
Building on the success of its first two editions, the competition has grown into a national platform celebrating outstanding coffee farmers from key coffee-growing regions, including Jazan, Al-Baha, and Aseer. This year’s edition marks another important milestone in advancing Saudi Coffee Company’s vision of developing a fully integrated Saudi coffee ecosystem, from farm to cup.
The competition focuses on enhancing quality and agricultural production standards through specialised training and rigorous technical evaluation of local coffee crops. Saudi farmers are further empowered by their involvement in transparent judging and tasting processes, which are conducted under the supervision of internationally recognised experts from the Alliance for Coffee Excellence.
In addition to improving crop quality, the initiative seeks to support economic development within coffee-growing communities and strengthen their competitiveness at both local and international levels. It also highlights the cultural identity of Saudi coffee, positioning it as an essential element of national heritage and a symbol of Arab hospitality, while contributing to the Kingdom’s broader goals of sustainable development and economic diversification.
