Sultan Qaboos University Ranks Third in 2025 Arab Universities Ranking

Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) has achieved a major milestone by securing third place in the 2025 Arab Ranking for Universities. Organized by the Association of Arab Universities (AArU) in collaboration with ALECSO and the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, the ranking evaluates institutions objectively through automated data processing across four pillars: quality of education, scientific research productivity, creativity and innovation, and international and local cooperation combined with community service.
This marks SQU’s first participation in the ranking, where it placed third among 236 universities from 20 Arab countries, highlighting the university’s rapid rise in regional academic excellence. The achievement reinforces SQU’s strategic commitment to academic and research excellence, supporting Oman Vision 2040 by enhancing the research and innovation ecosystem, expanding partnerships, and developing highly capable graduates and researchers.
