Aramco Implements 2026 Diesel Price Adjustment Following Annual Review
Saudi Aramco has announced an increase in diesel prices across the Kingdom, raising the rate by 7.8 percent to SR1.79 per liter. The update was published on the company’s official website on Thursday as part of its scheduled annual price review.
The adjustment comes in line with Aramco’s diesel pricing mechanism, which is reviewed at the beginning of each year. This marks the fifth price revision since the company introduced the annual diesel pricing framework in 2022.
Diesel prices in Saudi Arabia had remained unchanged for decades prior to 2015, holding steady at SR0.25 per liter. That year marked a turning point, when prices rose by 80 percent to SR0.45 per liter as part of broader reforms to domestic fuel and electricity pricing.
Further adjustments followed in subsequent years. In 2018, diesel prices increased by around 5 percent to SR0.47 per liter after the introduction of a 5 percent value-added tax (VAT). In mid-2020, prices climbed again by 10 percent to SR0.52 per liter following the increase of VAT to 15 percent.
Since the launch of Aramco’s annual diesel price review mechanism, prices have seen consistent upward revisions. In 2022, the first annual review set diesel prices at SR0.63 per liter. This was followed by an increase to SR0.75 per liter in 2023, a sharper rise to SR1.15 per liter in 2024, and a further jump to SR1.66 per liter in 2025.
With the latest 2026 review, diesel prices have now reached SR1.79 per liter, reflecting ongoing adjustments under the established pricing framework.
