Bahrain to Host 13th MEET ICT Conference and BITEX Exhibition, Spotlighting AI’s Role in the New Economy
Bahrain’s vibrant technology community is gearing up for the 13th edition of the MEET ICT Conference, held alongside the Bahrain International Technology Exhibition (BITEX) from November 25-27 at the Gulf Hotel. This year’s events will focus on “Innovation, Transform, Elevate: AI For the New Economy,” emphasizing the transformative power of artificial intelligence in driving economic diversification and digital transformation across Bahrain and the wider region.
Over three days, industry leaders, experts, and decision-makers will engage in high-level discussions exploring AI’s integration into business ecosystems, the development of smart economies, and the modernization of public and private services. The conference will culminate with an interactive workshop dedicated to the latest AI trends and digital transformation challenges.
Running concurrently, BITEX will showcase cutting-edge technologies, smart systems, and next-generation solutions from local and international tech companies.
A highlight of this year’s program is a special session focused on the Saudi market, designed to boost cross-border collaboration and foster strategic partnerships between Bahraini and Saudi enterprises.
Additional initiatives such as the “Learning Village” and “Tech Innovators” aim to bridge the gap between academic research and commercial application by spotlighting university projects and fostering entrepreneurship.
Rashid Al-Snan, Chairman of BTECH, emphasized the event’s importance: “This international platform continues to play a vital role in advancing digital transformation in the region, attracting top talent, showcasing investment opportunities in technology, and underlining the profound impact of AI in shaping future economies.”
Ahmed Al-Hujairy, CEO of WorkSmart, added, “We aim to drive collaboration between the public and private sectors by facilitating the development of innovative solutions, technology-driven initiatives, and impactful partnerships.”
As Bahrain advances its economic diversification agenda, the MEET ICT and BITEX events provide a crucial platform to focus on practical AI applications that can accelerate growth. While three days won’t solve all challenges, the dialogue promises to clarify the path forward in harnessing AI for tangible economic impact.
