Bahrain named capital of Arab sports culture for 2026, says Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad

Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has congratulated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s leadership on the country being named the Capital of Arab Sports Culture for 2026, describing the recognition as a reflection of Bahrain’s growing regional and international stature in the sports sector.

In his message, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad extended his sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, praising their continued support and leadership in advancing sports and youth development in the Kingdom.

He noted that the prestigious title highlights the steady progress of Bahrain’s sports ecosystem, which has benefited from strategic planning, institutional development, and sustained investment under the guidance of the national leadership. According to HH, the achievement underscores Bahrain’s commitment to elevating sports culture as a key pillar of social and humanitarian development.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad emphasized that the honor is the result of dedicated efforts by Bahrain’s sports and youth institutions, whose work has strengthened the Kingdom’s position across regional and international sporting platforms.
