Bahrain to Experience Cold Weather and Strong Winds from December 28 to January 1
The Meteorological Directorate at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has announced that Bahrain is set to experience cold weather beginning Sunday evening, December 28, with the return of northern winds. These conditions are expected to persist until Thursday, January 1, 2026, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures across the Kingdom.
According to forecasts, winds will be moderate to strong throughout the period, with occasional strong gusts expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 30 and 31. These conditions may lead to dust being raised in some areas and result in rough sea conditions. Wave heights are forecast to range between 1 to 3 feet near coastal areas and 3 to 6 feet in open waters.
Temperatures are expected to fall below seasonal averages, with daytime highs ranging between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius, while nighttime lows are forecast to drop to between 11 and 13 degrees Celsius. Windy conditions are likely to make it feel colder, particularly during nighttime and early morning hours. These readings are lower than the typical January averages of 21 degrees for daytime highs and 15 degrees for nighttime lows.
The Meteorological Directorate has advised the public, especially fishermen and sea-goers, to exercise caution during this period and to stay informed by following official weather updates and warnings issued through approved channels.
