Bahrain braces for unsettled weekend weather as cold wave brings rain and falling temperatures
Bahrain is set to experience a spell of unsettled winter weather as a cold wave moves across the region, bringing cooler temperatures, cloud cover, and chances of rainfall over the weekend, according to forecasts issued by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT).
Residents can expect a noticeable drop in temperatures, accompanied by northwesterly winds that will make conditions feel significantly colder than recorded readings.
Saturday, January 24, 2026
Saturday is expected to be mostly cloudy throughout the day, with scattered rain likely to develop after midnight. Daytime temperatures are forecast to range between 19°C and 22°C, while nighttime temperatures may fall to between 12°C and 16°C.
As winds strengthen from the northwest, the chill factor is expected to increase, especially during the late evening and early morning hours.
Sunday, January 25, 2026
Unsettled conditions are expected to continue into Sunday, with ongoing chances of light rain across parts of the Kingdom. Temperatures will remain cool, ranging between 16°C and 20°C, maintaining the wintery feel throughout the day.
Cold wave impact
The current weather pattern is being driven by a regional cold wave affecting the Gulf, with cooler air masses pushing into Bahrain. The northwesterly winds are contributing to lower “feels-like” temperatures, making the weather feel colder than normal for this time of year.
