Kartik Aaryan Joins Zombie Genre; Vicky Kaushal’s Mahavatar Faces Delay

Bollywood’s slate of upcoming films is heating up with some major developments. Kartik Aaryan is reportedly in discussions to lead a zombie thriller directed by Shershaah fame Vishnuvardhan. If confirmed, this would mark Kartik’s first venture into the zombie genre, adding another bold move to his evolving filmography. Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal’s mythological epic Mahavatar, in which he is set to portray Lord Parashurama, has officially been postponed. Originally scheduled for a Christmas 2026 release, the film will now aim for an Independence Day 2027 premiere due to scheduling conflicts, including Kaushal’s commitment to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. The delay also opens up the December 2026 release window, sparking speculation that Shah Rukh Khan’s King might take its place.
