Technical Malfunction Delays Kuwait Airways Flight to the Philippines; Replacement Aircraft Deployed

A Kuwait Airways flight bound for the Philippines was delayed on Friday after a minor incident at Kuwait International Airport, authorities confirmed.

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Flight KU417, carrying 284 passengers, experienced a technical malfunction at around 4:24 a.m. while preparing for takeoff. Abdullah Al Rajhi, the DGCA’s official spokesperson, said the issue occurred when the aircraft’s braking system suddenly malfunctioned as it was being moved on the tarmac.

“The incident caused minor damage to the aircraft’s fuselage, but there were no injuries reported among passengers or crew,” Al Rajhi stated.

Technical teams responded promptly, securing the area and carrying out safety inspections to assess the situation. After ensuring all safety measures were met, Kuwait Airways arranged a replacement aircraft. The flight subsequently departed for its scheduled destination, Manila, at 12:20 p.m.

Al Rajhi emphasized that passenger and crew safety remain the top priorities for both Kuwait Airways and the Civil Aviation Authority. He added that the incident was managed in full compliance with international aviation safety standards.

Kuwait Airways and the DGCA reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the highest levels of operational safety and efficiency for all travelers.
