Kuwait Detains 115 Residency Violators in Latest Crackdown

Kuwaiti authorities have detained 115 individuals found in violation of residency laws as part of ongoing efforts to regulate the labor market and curb illegal stays in the country.
The arrests were made during a series of coordinated inspection campaigns conducted across multiple governorates. Officials confirmed that those detained were staying in the country without valid permits or were found in breach of labor and residency regulations.
Authorities emphasized that the crackdown aims to maintain security, uphold the rule of law, and address issues stemming from illegal residency, which often leads to unregulated labor practices. The Ministry of Interior has reiterated its warning to expatriates and employers, urging strict compliance with residency and labor rules.
The detainees are expected to face legal proceedings, with some likely to be deported following the completion of necessary investigations and procedures.
Kuwait has intensified inspections in recent months, highlighting its zero-tolerance approach toward violations of immigration and labor laws.
