Information Ministry Launches 5th National Day Festival at Heritage Village

The Ministry of Information is set to launch the fifth edition of the National Day Festival at the Heritage Village in Ras Hayyan, running from December 4 to 28. The celebration will open with performances by the Bahraini Choir, whose national musical pieces will reflect the Kingdom’s rich artistic heritage. The choir is scheduled to deliver four special concerts throughout the festival.

Traditional arts will take center stage with performances by the Al Kray Team, presenting authentic folk shows that highlight Bahrain’s cultural identity. Five additional Bahraini heritage groups will join the programme, offering daily performances alongside two shows each weekend.

This year’s festival features expanded interactive experiences designed to immerse visitors in traditional Bahraini craftsmanship. Workshops will include pottery, palm-frond weaving, textile weaving, wooden chest crafting, and traditional ship model building, offering hands-on engagement for all ages.

The Heritage Village will also feature a bustling traditional market showcasing local vendors and productive families, a dedicated children’s zone, and food stations serving classic Bahraini cuisine. The event is organised in cooperation with various ministries and government bodies, with sponsorship support from entities including the National Bank of Bahrain, Al Kooheji Contractors, Cebarco, Beyon, Souq Al Baraha, and the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC).

Visitors are welcome from 6:30 PM to midnight on opening day. Throughout the remainder of the festival, the village will operate from 4 PM to 11 PM on weekdays and from 4 PM to midnight on weekends, offering a vibrant and immersive cultural experience for all.
