Robots deployed to assist visitors at king abdulaziz international quran competition
Makkah, in a move that merges tradition with modernity, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has introduced AI-powered interactive robots at the 45th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran, currently underway in Makkah. These high-tech assistants, unveiled by the ministry's leadership, are designed to guide and support both participants and visitors throughout the event.
Equipped with touchscreens and advanced language capabilities, the robots offer comprehensive information including event schedules, venue locations, and participation procedures. They can also respond to queries in up to 96 languages, making the competition more accessible and inclusive for an international audience.
This tech integration aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader Smart Haramain initiative under Vision 2030, which seeks to enhance the visitor experience at Islamic holy sites through digital innovation.
