Bahrain to Introduce BD 2 Passenger Registration Fee from April 2026

Passengers departing from or transiting through Bahrain International Airport will be required to pay a BD 2 Passenger Registration Fee starting April 2026, authorities have confirmed. The new charge will apply to all outbound and transit travelers using the airport.
The fee, introduced by Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, forms part of updates to the country’s aviation and airport service framework. It is expected to be included within airline ticket pricing or collected as part of the travel process, though final implementation details are yet to be clarified.
Such passenger registration fees are commonly used worldwide to support airport operations, enhance infrastructure, and improve passenger services. Travelers planning trips through Bahrain from April 2026 onward are advised to factor in the additional cost and stay updated through official announcements for further details or exemptions.
